Contractors State License Board Elects Officers for 2006-07
SACRAMENTO - At its May 11th meeting in San Diego, members of the Contractors State License Board (CSLB) elected officers to serve from July 1, 2006 through June 30, 2007.
Matt Kelly was elected Board Chair. Mr. Kelly joined the Board in April 2003 as a public member. He is Executive Secretary Treasurer of the Sacramento-Sierra's Building and Construction Trades Council. He started his career as an apprentice carpenter and has since worked on a variety of commercial and residential projects and has been in construction management for a large general contractor.
"I am very pleased to have the opportunity to serve as Chair of the Contractor's State License Board," said Mr. Kelly. "Serving an industry that is so critical to the economy of our great state is indeed an honor."
The Board elected Jim Miller as Vice Chair. Mr. Miller joined the Board in September 2005. He is Director of Building and Safety for the County of Riverside. Previously, he was the Development Services Director for the City of Murrieta. Earlier in his career, he served as a building official and building inspector.
The Board also elected Don Zampa as Secretary. Mr. Zampa, who resides in Benicia, was appointed to the Board in February 2005. He serves as General Organizer, Ironworkers International Union.
