Tips for Calling CSLB’s Public Information Center

The Public Information Center’s Call Center is staffed with specially trained technicians who can assist licensees, applicants, and consumers with a variety of topics. Technicians are available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., except for State holidays.

When are the longest wait times?

Generally, the longest wait times are on Monday and Tuesday mornings or on the first day after a holiday. Wait times also can be a bit longer during lunch breaks, between noon and 2 p.m.

Are there any other tips that will help me when I call?

When you call, be prepared with a pen or pencil and paper so you can write down information. If you're a licensee/applicant, it's important to know your license number/application fee number and what specific questions you have. If you've got a complicated issue, be sure the person who calls can answer all the questions staff may ask. Finally, if our technician cannot help you completely, we will get the information and call you back.

Can I get the information I need without calling the Call Center?

Yes, visit our Frequently Asked Questions page for the most common reasons people call, as well as links to answers on the CSLB website.
